The first challenge that we got from the Estonian pupils was this:  you have done something wrong and want to apologize to your parents. Our 3rd and 4th graders have used Scratch to make a program where they can tell their parents all the good things they have done during the week.

Here is a link where you can watch our first project!

Below are some tutorials on how to code in Scratch that our students have made.

The kindergarden also took part in this challenge.
Our parents are angry with us. What can we do?
We had a discussion with the children.
The children talked about their experiences with saying sorry, and what they can do to make their perents happy again.
– Give them a hug
– sing a song
– eat their dinner
– bake a cake
– Just say «I am sorry»

They made a drawing about their suggestion to solving the problem.
During the work they learnt to code with hands and arrows.
We made a robotics mat and the children glued their drawings onto it.
After they had worked with coding with their hands and the robotics mat, we started with the Blue –bot. The children learned how to code it. They used the robotic mat to code the Blue – bot to go to their drawings.
The children leared a song they could sing when the Blue – bot arrived at the drawing they had made about singing.
We used 5 weeks and worked with this for 2 lessons a week.
The teacher made a movie when the children coded the Blue – bot. She made a QR-code and put it on youtube.
